THE HOTEL
Hotel Caelum is a luxury hotel set on an asteroid floating in the middle of an asteroid belt in an unclear expanse of space. The hotel, while simple looking on the outside, is much more expansive on the inside with a whopping 100 floors to start. "To start?" you may ask and according the concierge, Mr Bennet, the hotel shapes itself on the needs of its residents. The more residents, the more floors the hotel may be in need of.
The outside grounds of the hotel are habitable, with the residents free to take walks (or, spacewalks rather) around the asteroid. Though, the further they get away from the hotel the harder it will be to breathe. Most of the grounds are desolate though and rather uninteresting, most of the sights reserved for inside of the hotel.
The hotel is rather grand on the inside, boasting a modern aesthetic across the many different restaurants, bars and lounge areas within the hotel. The color scheme of the hotel tends to lend itself to different shades of blue, white, golds, and greens, sticking to the "middle of space" theme. Bedrooms range from normal to more thematic and lush.
Beyond that, there are the many different floors of the hotel.
THE FLOORS
Some floors don't feature guest rooms at all and are in fact like stepping into a world entirely different than what's expected of the hotel. Even the proportions of the floor aren't entirely the same, some with high ceilings, and an expansive floor while others seem to be smaller than the rest of the floors of the hotel.
It's up to the players to make up floors their character will encounter as they stay at the hotel but to give an idea of what type of floors they might be able to find, here are some examples:
The library floor. A thick maze of floor to ceiling shelves upon shelves with comfortable seating and the coziest little reading nooks. Anything and everything you would want to look for here can be found, including books from other worlds or books from the future. If your character has a question about anything, they might be able to find the answer here.
The gym floor. The most modern state of the art gym one could want will be on this floor. With basketball courts, tennis courts, even a baseball field, any type of sports can be played here. There's even an olympic sized swimming pool for any who want to get in their morning swim.
The clouds floor. Have you ever wanted to float on a cloud and lounge away the rest of the day? This is the floor to do that. Feel free to even go cloud gazing as well.
The aphrodisiac floor. Stepping onto this floor has the tendency to make anyone just a bit more amorous for even a second, and the longer your character stays on this floor, the more intense that feeling will get. From private areas to canoodle and little dessert restaurants for cute dates, this floor will have anything your character might want when it comes to the romance.
These are only a few examples of floors your character can find while exploring the hotel. But be warned, the hotel is constantly changing so some of these floors might be gone or changed into something else the next time your character looks!
New floors will also appear and disappear in conjunction with events at the hotel.
ROOMS
As described above, rooms can look anything like your character wants. If your character wants their specific room from back home, the hotel room will be shaped to match it. If your character wants something large and expansive and brand new to them, the hotel room will shape their needs there as well.
The floors outside of the room however remain uniform and static unless they're part of a themed floor.
Please list your characters room number on the housing page HERE in order to keep track of how many characters are on each floor and who your neighbors are.
HOTEL AMENITIES
Aside from the floors and the rooms, there are some parts of the hotel that don't change.
As described above, there are a few restaurants, bars, and lounge areas dotted along the lobby and the first few floors of the hotel. Characters will be able to get all kinds of food at these restaurants, from the most expensive sushi they can find to a real nice steak (cow or chocobo meat, as their preference).
There are also a few spas and indoor pools throughout the many floors of the hotels. Need a massage? Easy, that's pretty standard fare when it comes to hotels and the staff is happy to help.
There will also be some more boring logistical places like: a gym (more simple than the gym floor), sauna, laundry, kitchens, all types of things that make up a normal hotel.
